Michael Lien is the Executive Chairman of Wah Hin & Company Pte Ltd (Wah Hin), the Lien family office and a Singapore-based investment holding company. Wah Hin is a substantial shareholder of United Overseas Bank (UOB).

He serves as a Non-Independent Director of UOB and is a member of the Board Executive Committee.

Michael is also the Founder and Board Chairman of LEAP201, a Singapore-based venture philanthropy focused on long-term social impact through strategic capital and institutional partnerships.

Previously, he was a Board Member of Temasek Holdings (2009–2018) and served on the National University of Singapore (NUS) Board of Trustees (2009–2021), including the Investment Committee (2009–2020).

He has over 30 years of experience in the financial industry, with deep expertise in corporate finance, capital markets, and institutional investing. He was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, where he headed its Corporate Finance business until 2002. Prior to Morgan Stanley, he worked at Standard Chartered Merchant Bank Asia, with responsibility for equity origination. He began his career in public service at Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Michael is a Colombo Plan Scholar and holds a Bachelor of Economics (First Class Honours) with double majors in Finance and Econometrics from Monash University, Australia.
